Ankara: Festa Nazionale della Repubblica Italiana
Ieri 26 giugno l’Ambasciata italiana ad Ankara ha festeggiato la 72° Festa della Repubblica Italiana.
Ieri 26 giugno l’Ambasciata italiana ad Ankara ha festeggiato la 72° Festa della Repubblica Italiana. L’Ambasciatore Luigi Mattiolo, dopo aver dato il benvenuto agli ospiti e gli inni nazionali, ha tenuto il discorso di saluto (allegato). A seguire è intervenuto il Rappresentante del governo turco, il Ministro dell’Economia, Nihat Zeybekçi, che ha indirizzato il suo intervento di saluto.
Il programma della serata è continuato con la cerimonia di premiazione delle studentesse che hanno vinto il concorso di design “Green is the color” realizzato dall’Ambasciata in collaborazione con l’Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) e l’l’Università Bilkent in occasione della Giornata italiana del design. Le studentesse premiate sono 1. IDIL KARAGOZOGLU; 2. EDA BOZKURT; 3. AYSEGUL YAZAR.
A seguire sono state consegnate le onorificenze della repubblica italiana alle personalità turche che si sono distinte per particolari meriti nel promuovere le relazioni tra Italia e Turchia. Sono stati insigniti nell’ordine:
L’Avv. Musa Toprak: CAVALIERE dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia, fondatore dell’Associazione di amicizia Italia e di Casa Italia, centro di diffusione della cultura e della lingua italiana;
Il Capo Consigliere Stampa del Primo Ministro e della Presidenza della Repubblica turca, Lutfullah Goktas: COMMENDATORE dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia, che nel corso della sua lunga carriera professionale ha contribuito in maniera decisiva a valorizzare la vastità e profondità delle relazioni tra i due Paesi;
Il Sindaco di Eskisehir Yilmaz Büyükersen: CAVALIERE dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana, grande amico dell’Italia che ha sempre assicurato la massima collaborazione con le istituzioni italiane in Turchia e ha attuato ogni possibile misura per facilitare l’attività delle tante imprese italiane sul suo territorio;
La Sindaca di Gaziantep ed ex Ministro della Famiglia, Fatma Sahin: COMMENDATORE dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia, per il suo profondo impegno sociale a favore dei rifugiati siriani e delle categorie più vulnerabili, donne e bambini;
Il Ministro dell’Economia, Nihat Zeybekçi: COMMENDATORE dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana, che contributo enormemente al rafforzamento delle relazioni economiche bilaterali tra Italia e Turchia, in particolare favorendo la realizzazione della prima Joint Economic and Trade Commission (JETCO) tenutasi ad Istanbul nel febbraio 2017 .
La serata è proseguita con la musica della jazz band Meriç Çalişan Project e con i prodotti italiani offerti dai diversi sponsor (allegato sponsor).
In Residenza era inoltre esposta la mostra fotografica del fotografo Massimo Cavagna. Al termine del ricevimento è stata consegnata a tutti gli ospiti la pubblicazione dell’Ambasciata sulle indicazioni geografiche in Italia e in Turchia realizzata in collaborazione con l’ente turco per la proprietà intellettuale, Turkpatent.
La festa della Repubblica ha avuto una straordinaria partecipazione di pubblico, quasi 2000 persone, con la presenza di molte Autorità turche, parlamentari, imprenditori, giornalisti, comunità diplomatica e comunità civile.

ONCE AGAIN MY SPOUSE Stefania and I HAVE THE HONOUR to welcome all of you - fellow Italians, Turkish friends and diplomatic colleagues - to the celebration of the Italian Republic which on LAST 2nd of june BECAME 72 years old.
I WISH TO ADDRESS A SPECIAL THANK TO THE MINISTER OF ECONOMY, H.E. NIHAT ZEYBEKCI, who HONOURS US with his presence as representative of the Turkish government.
I also express my DEEP gratitude to all the sponsors, which have made this EVENT possible WITH THEIR SUPPORT, as well as TO all THE EMBASSY STAFF FOR their WORK to organize this evening.
THIS IS ALREADY THE FOURTH TIME WE CELEBRATE TOGETHER THE ITALIAN NATIONAL DAY IN ANKARA. THIS MAKES ME AWARE OF HOW FAST TIME RUNS IN TURKEY, IN SUCH A VIBRANT COUNTRY. in recent months, THIS WAS TRUE FOR BOTH OUR NATIONS, WHICH are CONFRONTED WITH GLOBAL CHALLENGES, THAT NO COUNTRY Can FACE ALONE: MIGRATION FLOWS, FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM, FINANCIAL TURBULENCES, NEED TO FOSTER ECONOMIC GROWTH AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT, PROTECTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND FUNDAMENTAL FREEDOMs.
THE seriousness AND THE SCOPE OF THESE CHALLENGES TO THE INTERNATIONAL PEACE AND SECURITY IMPOSE US TO strenghten OUR COoperation IN ALL FIELDS. INdeed, WE SHARE common values and interests: the stabilization and prosperity of the Mediterranean and the Middle East; the eradication of terrorism; the membership of the Atlantic Alliance; the European integration process; the energy security; the ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION; the promotion of our common historical AND ARCHEOLOGICAL heritage.
Last year - WITH ALMOST 20 BILLION DOLLARS OF BILATERAL TRADE EXCHANGE - Italy WAS the FOURTH largest commercial partner of Turkey. The number of Italian companies in the Country IS growing CONTINOUSLY. joint ventures and partnerships between Italian and Turkish companies ensure increasing mutual advantages. There is plenty of examples, from the automotive to the food industry, from defence to banking sector. MEANWHILE, TURKISH INVESTMENTS IN ITALY SHOW AN AMAZINGLY POSITIVE TREND.
THIS IS THE BEDROCK ON WHICH WE SHOULD BUILD UP OUR RELATIONS AS WELL AS THOSE BETWEEN TURKEY AND EUROPE. we are fully aware of the obstacles still impeding a further deepening of relations BETWEEN TURKEY AND THE EUROPEAN UNION. The last years have not seen the progress which are needed and too often the merits of mutual cooperation between EU and turkey were overshadowed by POLEMICS AND misunderstandings.
Now, the time has come to turn page. we are confident that a quick back to normalcy would give a boost to the relationship between turkey and the eu, AS WELL AS BETWEEN turkey and all the eu member states.
we need to adopt a fresh start, a new vision of our common future.
iT IS HIGH TIME TO FOCUS ON OUR COMMON INTERESTS which remain solid and PROFOUND. THE UPDATING OF THE CUSTOMS UNION; THE ADOPTION OF A COMMON STRATEGY AGAINST TERRORISM, TRAFFICKING OF HUMAN BEINGS AND ORGANIZED CRIME; the FULL FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT BETWEEN TURKEY AND EUROPE. INDEED, They AREAFFORDABLE TARGETS, BUT THEY STILL NEED MUCH WORK.
despite obstacles and shortfalls, THE european integration process MAINTAINS ALL ITS potential. its merits go beyond turkey, they concern us all. ITALY WANTS TO SEE TURKEY AS A PART OF THIS GAME.
WE CANNOT IMAGINE a better tool to ensure stability, to SPREAD DEMOCRACY, to foster economic development AND to defend HUMAN RIGHTS, FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION AND THE RULE OF LAW.
IN FACT, TO renounce such a STRATEGIC GOAL WOULD BE AN awfulMISTAKE, it would contradict THE VALUES IN WHICH WE BELIEVE AND WE ARE CONVINCED THE TURKISH NATION BELIEVES AS WELL.
to abandon this project, to build up AMONG US walls instead of bridges would make us deaf to the calls from our peoples and unable to ENSURE A BETTER life TO THE NEXT GENERATIONS, WHICH, in the end, IS the purpose of our endeavours and the foundation of our future.
