THE CORPORATION

TRT’s broadcasts reach to Turkey and to the whole world with 15 TV channels, 28 national, local and international radio channels, trt.net.tr and trt.world.com web pages available in 41 different languages and dialects, teletext and three monthly magazines under the names of “TeleVİZYON”, RadyoVİZYON and “TRT Çocuk”.

TRT also issues three monthly digital magazines, namely “TRT Haber DD”, “TRTSpor” and “TRT Türk”.

TRT has 13 representative offices abroad; Cologne and Berlin in Germany, Lefkosha in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Baku in Azerbaijan, Brussels in Belgium, Washington in the USA, Cairo in Egypt, Tashkent in Uzbekistan, Ashgabat in Turkmenistan, Arbil in Iraq, Sarajevo in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Astana in Kazakhstan and Skopje in Macedonia. Preparations to establish offices in London, Kuala Lumpur and Moscow are in the process.

BROADCASTING

As a broadcasting corporation with a large range of audience from different backgrounds and with its broadcast quality compatible and competitive with international standards, TRT enjoys support and admiration of its audience.

TRT on the Internet

Aiming to meet the expectations of its viewers in the digital age and provide the opportunities of technology to the public, TRT completed some crucial projects in a very short time. The official website http://www.trt.net.tr was launched on May 1, 1999. Live radio and television programs are available on the Internet, enabling global access to TRT’s services. Furthermore, the website offers breaking news from Turkey and the world, latest developments in economy and finance sectors, all branches of sports, weather forecast, radio & television programs and promotions.

TRT’s Internet broadcasting has gone a step further, and it prepared a website in a multilingual format.

TRT-World.com

The Voice of Turkey offers a traditional line of broadcasting in its transmissions to the world on the short wave, via satellite and on the Internet. TRT always keep an eye on the technological developments in the realm of broadcasting and puts at the disposal of its listeners a website in various languages with a powerful infrastructure.

The Internet buffs can listen to whatever is newsworthy in the region, the world and Turkey in various languages and dialects at trt-world.com, which was put into service on November 20, 2008.

International Cooperation

Since its foundation, TRT has signed 177 memorandums of understanding and cooperation protocols with broadcasting companies of 69 country and autonomous region.

TÜRKİYE RADYO-TELEVİZYON KURUMU (TRT)

TARİHÇE

Türkiye Radyo Televizyon Kurumu (TRT), devlet adına radyo ve televizyon yayınlarını gerçekleştirmek amacıyla, 01 Mayıs 1964’de kuruldu.

TRT bugün 15 televizyon kanalı (TRT 1, TRT World, TRT Haber, TRT Spor, TRT Diyanet, TRT Çocuk, TRT Kürdi, TRT Avaz, TRT Türk, TRT Belgesel, TRT Müzik, TRT Arapça, TRT Okul), ulusal, bölgesel ve uluslararası olmak üzere 18 radyo kanalı, trt.net.tr, trt.world.com ve trtvotworld.com üzerinden 41 dil ve lehçede yayın, teleteks yayını ile “TeleVİZYON”, “RadyoVİZYON”, “TRT Çocuk” dergileriyle ve “TRT Haber DD”, “TRTSpor” ile “TRT Türk” dijital dergileriyle Türkiye’ye ve dünyaya yayın yapmaktadır.

YAYINLAR

Eğitim, kültür, belgesel, drama, spor, müzik ve eğlence yayınlarıyla ülkemize ve sınır ötesinde dünyanın birçok bölgesine ulaşarak, her yaş grubundan izleyiciye yönelik yayınlarıyla hizmet veren TRT, çok sayıda ulusal ve bölgesel televizyon kanalının bulunduğu yayın ortamında nitelikli ve sorumlu yayıncılık anlayışıyla faaliyet göstermektedir.

Yayınlarda amaç; çeşitli meslek, yaş, eğitim ve kültür seviyesindeki seyirciye doğru, tarafsız, anlaşılır, çabuk haber vermek, eğitim ve kültürlerine katkıda bulunacak programlar üretmek, eğlendirirken eğitmek, en yaygın şekliyle milli kültür bütünleşmesine katkıda bulunmak ve eğitim düzeyinin yükselmesini sağlamaktır.

Bunun dışında, özellikle haber yayınlarına kaynak sağlamak amacıyla TRT’nin yurtdışında 13 farklı merkezde temsilcilikleri bulunmaktadır.
