DAVUTOĞLU ON CURRENT SITUATION IN SYRIA

Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu said the government in Syria has lost its legitimacy.

Evaluating the Friends of Syria meeting held in Paris Davutoğlu said that international pressure on Syria is increasing each passing day. Ahmet Davutoğlu said that participants of the meeting have conveyed him their message that Syrian people are grateful to Turkey.

Foreign Minister Davutoğlu drew attention to more than one hundred countries participating in the meeting and said this number of participants in the meeting has reminded Syria and its supporters how they have been segregated by the international community and this is a duty of the international community to act now as well as he told that the next meeting will be held in August in Morocco. Davutoğlu stressed that Turkey cannot remain unconcerned on Syrian incidents and we are determined to stop bloodshed in Syria through all possible diplomatic means. This determination has been endorsed once again today.

Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu underscored that syria government has lost its legitimacy and a transition government should be immediately formed in Syria.
