In an assessment of Turkey's foreign policy, Babacan said Al Assad was going to exit in a short time and a democratic regime was going to be set up in its place.
Deputy Prime Minister who is in Kars met the locals and talked to them about the items occupying Turkey's agenda. He spoke about Turkey's economy at length.
Babacan said that the Erdoğan governmnet had taken over an IMF debt of 23,5 billion dollars and added that Turkey's debt to the IMF was now 2 billion dollars. He said further that Prime Minister Erdoğan had pledged to make a contribution of 5 billion dollars to the pool formed by the IMF to help out the collapsed economies of the euro zone.
Regarding the foreign policy pursued by Turkey, Babacan said it received great acclaim and blamed the bad management both in Syria and Iraq for the problems they were tackling. He said further he believed problems would be surmounted soon and a genuine democracy placing the people's will at the top of priorities would be installed with all segments of the society getting their requirements and desires fulfilled.
