Russian foreign ministry said in a statement posted on its website that in case US' unilateral economic sanctions against Iran harms Moscow's economic interests, the US-Russian ties will be effected badly from such a development.
Underlining that the unilateral economic sanctions of the USA are against the international law, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mariya Zakharova said, "We are against all-pervasive US laws, they are engulfing the whole world."
Russia said further that the economic sanctions applied against Iran to convince it to halt its controversial nuclear programme should be grounded on the UN Security Council resolutions.
In a last-week, new series of sanctions against Iran decided by USA President Barack Obama, foreign companies engaging in commercial transactions with Tehran in the areas of insurance, finance, oil, oil-related products and sea transportations will be affected.
