The award-committee consisting of 23 academics have decided to give the award, previously granted to such statesmen as Crroatia's former President Styepan Mesic and Austria's former Foreign Minister Alois Mock, to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The Isabey Ishakovic award granted for the past six years to those figures who have stood out for their noteworthy contributions to the climate of multi-culturalism, peace and stability in Bosnia Herzegovina will be presented to Erdoğan in Sarajevo on September 15th which coincides with the 550th anniversary of the city's foundation.
In the meantime, the Turkish embassy staff in Sarajevo have said that Prime Minister Erdoğan is going to be in Sarajevo on September 15th to get his award and to make some official contacts with the Bosnian authorities.
